Colombe of the Dja and Lobo and Victoria United alias Opopo have taken lead in the first PlayOffs Up matches fielded this Sunday, March 24, 2024 at the Mbappe -Leppe Stadium in Douala. Colombe FC humbled Canon Sportif of Yaounde 1-0 and later on Victoria United edged Dynamo FC 1-0 to settle for a win


In a full Mbappe-Leppe stadium in Douala, Colombe of the Dja and Lobo threw weights with Canon Sportif of Yaounde in the first PlayOffs Up encounter that kicked off at 2 pm this Sunday 24. The struggle for both teams to take lead was short lift as Jean Florent Batoum opened scores for Colombe just 12 minutes into the first half

The hustle and bustle continued but unfortunately Canon failed to impressed the hundreds of fans who trooped in to cheer their Kpakum boys from Yaounde. The first half remained unchanged as Colombe continuously fought to maintain her superiority with 1-0 lead

Colombe settled for three points in an eight-clubs affair in Douala that will produced the champions of the prestigious Division One Championship dubbed Elite One scheduled to run till April 9

The second confrontations of the day featured Victoria United of Limbe alias Opopo whose imposing nature was also witnessed with the heavy turn-out of fans of the Limbe-based club that faced off Dynamo FC of Douala.

The clash was a stalemate till the 75th minute of play when Richmond Nji tipped pass the shot keeper of Dynamo to shake the net to the excitement of the fans nicely dressed in the white and black colours of the club.

The second match of the day fielded at 4 pm was marked by the presence of first time AFCON play, Nathan Wilfried Douala who played full time for his local club Victoria United to the amusement of Douala football lovers who scrambled for a space on the supporter’s corner just to watch the sensational midfielder

At the moment , Colombe counts three points just like Victoria United in the partial day-1 actions of the MTN Elite One PlayOffs Up. Other day-1 matches continue this Monday, March 25, 2024 with Yong Sports Academy to clash with Gazelle FA, and Coton Sport of Garoua will throw weights with Stade Renard of Melong
